This is the point Ive been trying to make. I really think John had no idea what he meant to Sherlock until the proof was in his face. I mean you would think after the best man speech, but its more than that. This is visual proof, not just writing on a paper. I wonder how it feels to be the one true weakness of someone, and not just any someone. Your best friend who you think is the best and wisest man you have ever known. John is his pressure point. He must feel completely helpless.
